Samantha Carlin's interest in glass as art began in 1992, when she began working with stained glass. Her passion for the medium continued to grow, and seven years later she founded Lucid Glassworks. Her art has been comissioned for several private homes, businesses and numerous shops in Colorado and Washington.

In May of 2003, Ms. Carlin was presented with the opportunity to try her hand at offhand glassblowing at Glassworks Studio and Gallery in Estes Park, Colorado under the owner ship of founder Garth Mudge. She took to it quickly and in November of the same year ws hired as a full-time artist to make varying stayles of production pieces for the shop. The friendly, hands on environment has been an invaluable asset to her development as an artist and has been instrumental in the fine tuning of her skills in the unique craft of glassblowing.

" I have never been more comfortable doing anything else," said Carlin. "Nothing else makes me more passionate or ambitious to succeed. I love the possibilities that come with working with such a fluctuating material as glass. I love the heat and the gratification of completing a piece. With glass I feel like I have something of myself to share."
